Are You A Balmaholic? We Have The Cure.
Posted by La Dolce Diva on Mar 4, 2009 | 2 commentsWell, really there is no need to be “cured”, it is not life endangering , socially unacceptable or against the law, unless having kissably soft lips is a crime. If you find yourself momentarily panicked when you can’t find your special balm in your pocket, purse or desk drawer. If you actually close your eyes in bliss as you apply it to your pout once you have found it. I have the answer to your prayers. A place where lip balm reigns supreme…Confessions of a Balmaholic. A new website that reviews lip balms and the like for your edification.
If you look closely, you will see that La Dolce Diva’s lip balms have been reviewed and received 5 out of 5 stars!
Here is an excerpt of what Kelsey, resident Balmaholic, wrote:
Every now and then I come across a company that just feels like home. There will be something about it that just screams, “KELSEY, I AM MEANT FOR YOU!” This sucks me in, of course, and I am left considering these lip balms to be members of my family. Then it just gets creepy, and I question my sanity.
This has been the case with La Dolce Diva. So far, I love everything about this company, and I’d love to one day check out some of the other products available. However, I am a balmaholic, so this is about lip balm, not what lotion I’d like to take a chance on.
PRICE: $5.00 at La Dolce Diva
PACKAGING: Your standard sized tube. However, this particular standard sized tube was clearly designed with me in mind. I mean, because everything that features leopard print must be made with me in mind, duh. Seriously, though, I love the labels. They are “classy” with a bit of “funky”, and I am totally digging it. On each tube, there is a short paragraph about each flavor, along with the ingredients. The font is a little small, but this is because I’m blind and can’t see much of anything, and I try not to hold this against the company.
TEXTURE/GLIDE: The first time using them, it feels a little bit tough in texture, but after that first glide.. Good gravy. Easy breezy lemon peasy. It is smooth, creamy, and glides right on with no problem. It’s buttery and light on the lips and just.. *shudder* So good.
FLAVOR/SMELL: There are eight flavors in all, four in each series (Dolce Divina is based on Italian desserts, and Bella Divina is based on Italian blossoms), and every single one of them is incredible.
ANYTHING ELSE: I think there is something to say for excellent customer service and appreciation, and Jennifer, the head diva at La Dolce Diva, is absolutely awesome in many ways. I wish more company owners were as nice and helpful as she has been towards me (note: my reviews on lip balms are not in any way based off of how a company treats me, but it certainly makes it that much more of a pleasant experience).
OVERALL: If it was possible to marry a lip balm, I would ask this one to meet me at the alter. Leopard print, amazing flavors, Italian based, awesome formula.. Seriously, what’s not to love? 5 out of 5
Although Kelsey’s site is relatively new, she has already reviewed too many balms to mention. She does a great job of describng and reviewing each importatnt factor so you can make your own judgement of what to try. If she keeps going at this rate, she will soon run out of lip balms to review and have to start on lotions! ( my secret wish.)
One last thing I would like to clear up for all you Lip Balm Neophytes or not so Neo.…ChapStick is a brand not the product. ChapStick is actually a LIP BALM. They have done such a great job of marketing that most people call all lip balms ChapStick. Once you learn that you don’t have to have chapped lips to enjoy and appreciate the secret life of lip balms, a whole new world will open up for you. I’ll step down off my soap box now.

My very own entry on your blog.. It’s a beautiful thing!
And hey, you never know. Perhaps one day, most likely a long time from now, I will start reviewing lotions. Hey, there’s a lot of lip balm out there, but not enough to keep me going for the rest of my life.
Thank you for touching on the ChapStick subject, by the way! This always drives me crazy. ChapStick being the universal world for lip balm.. Puh-lease.. lol.
